What: Land of Oz III - Kansas State Disc Dog Championship and Quadruped
When: June 15 (QUADRUPED) and June 16 (KSDDC) 2013
June 15 Registration 7:30 to 8:30 am - competition starts at 9:00 am
June 16 Registration 8:15 to 9:00 am - competition starts at 9:30 am

Join the KCDD as we put on the Land of Oz III Kansas State Disc Dog Championships, and host the long distance competition The Quadruped! We will have both advanced and novice divisions, so even if you have never been in a frisbee competition with your dog you are welcome to come out and play. Sign up for at least 4 events on Sunday and get a players pack with a Free disc and a Free awesome LoOIII T-shirt (while they last).
The State Championship on Sunday will be the Skyhoundz Disc Dogathon format and will feature 6 different events or games you can play with your dog. If you play in the advanced division you have a chance to qualify in 5 of those events to go to the world championships in TN in September as this event is also a World Championship Qualifier!!! Awards will be given to the top three winners of each event in both Novice and Advanced divisions, along with the "Overall Kansas State Champion" award plus runner up award to overall advanced winner, and there will be a special Novice overall and runner up award as well.

Registration for the Disc Dogathon is just $6 per event for members, $8 for non-members. If you sign up for 5 events the 6th one is free! (per dog) You can do as many or as few events as you wish.
The overall KS State Champion will be decided by taking each team's score in each event (1st place gets 10 points, 2nd place gets 9 points etc etc in each event). Pairs D/A will not count towards the individual KS champion, but is a Qualifier for the Skyhoundz Disc Dogathon world championships - You must be in at least 4 Championship points events to be in the overall championship. (All 5 events points total will count towards the overall - so if you are only in 4 - you will only have 4 events count towards the overall)
Bring your dogs, discs, crates, water, chairs, and have a great time! All dogs must be on a leash or crated when they are not competing due to City law, and of course please pick up after them so we get asked back! Make sure your dog is current on all shots. This event is taking place at a Sports complex where there will be other events happening and we will have spectators, so we ask that everyone conduct themselves in a family friendly manner.
Saturday the KCDD will host The Quadruped, the premier long distance competition. There will be an "open" division for pros - and a "Men's or Women's" division for those that can't throw a mile! The Quad is a GREAT head to head competition with strategy as well as long throws. Check out the rules below for more info.

Saturday night the KCDD will host a cookout with free food and drinks for everyone!!!

FRIDAY NIGHT PRE-EVENT FUN!
The Friday night before the event you can join us for "Barkarusa Fest"
While this is not a KCDD event, we have been invited to bring all of our competitors down for a great get together and Disc Dog "mixer" at the Mutt n’ Strut and Barkarusa Fest.
This will take place in the parking lot of our awesome sponsor "Pawsh Wash" at 1520 Walarisa, Lawrence, KS.
Beverages, Bands, Food 5:30 – 10:00 p.m.
There will be individual food and beverages for sale, and a mile long "mutt walk" as well as lots of activites. There is no charge to just come by and hang out - (profits from this event go to the Lawrence Humane Society)
